Nova Conseil helps define objectives, indicators, target populations and the data-collection plan. Questionnaires may combine closed questions, skip logic, consistency checks and qualitative fields. Depending on the assignment, the study may cover formal or transitioning-to-formality activities, extractive or non-extractive value chains, infrastructure, services, communities, beneficiaries or internal teams.
02Field data collection suited to DRC conditions with KoboCollect
KoboCollect supports mobile forms on phones or tablets, including field validation, skip logic and synchronization when connectivity permits. We can prepare the form, variable dictionary, interviewer instructions, training and supervision arrangements. The protocol should account for travel distances, infrastructure conditions, network availability, working languages, seasonality, site access and, in some areas, security constraints. Where appropriate, we recommend a pilot, phased collection and explicit documentation of non-response, substitutions and coverage limitations.
03Data checking, cleaning and analysis with Excel
Exported data are checked and documented before interpretation: duplicates, missing values, inconsistencies, outliers, coding, dates, units and geolocation where included in the protocol. Excel can be used to produce a clean dataset, pivot tables, indicators by area or profile, charts and a practical dashboard. We clearly distinguish observed facts, estimates, reported perceptions and interpretations. Findings are not extrapolated beyond the method, sample and quality actually achieved.

Where relevant, Odoo can help organize a contact register, activity tracking, requests, corrective actions, or collection and follow-up campaigns. Nova Conseil can support the definition of fields, roles, workflows, quality rules and monitoring views while taking existing processes into account rather than imposing a tool. The aim is to make information more traceable and usable by teams. A study or configuration does not replace internal governance, business validation or management decisions.
05Sectors and use cases in the DRC
The service can support a customer survey for an SME, a formalization and needs assessment for businesses, a supplier or community study around a mining project, an infrastructure assessment, a service-satisfaction survey, NGO monitoring and evaluation, or academic research. In extractive sectors, analysis may distinguish production, subcontracting, local employment, stakeholder relations and access constraints, without drawing unsupported conclusions. In non-extractive sectors, it may cover trade, agriculture, industry, transport, digital services, health, education or professional services. Exchange-rate movements, inflation, supply disruptions and travel costs can be documented as contextual factors when included in the assignment.

Each assignment is documented with an agreed scope covering responsibilities, timeline, method, field access, validation arrangements and deliverable formats. We can include questionnaire testing, supervision, consistency checks, a correction audit trail and a findings workshop. Results depend on response quality, access to people and sites, selected coverage, resources and field conditions.
