Accounting, Finance and Management with Sage, Odoo and Excel — Cabinet Nova Conseil

For SMEs, mining, commercial, industrial and service companies, institutions, NGOs, entrepreneurs, professionals, students and researchers across the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cabinet Nova Conseil provides practical support in accounting, finance and management. The offer combines Sage, Odoo and Excel according to each organisation’s maturity, processes and resources: structure information, improve the reliability of monitoring and turn available data into decision-support materials. Engagements are defined and documented with the client and adapted to local conditions; they are not legal, tax or personalised financial advice, and no outcome is guaranteed.

01
LOCAL CONTEXT

An engagement designed for DRC realities.

The proposition recognises an environment where formalisation, supporting-document quality and traceability may improve in stages, with organisations spread between Kinshasa and the provinces, connectivity constraints and multi-site operations. OHADA includes a Uniform Act on accounting law and financial reporting, adopted on 26 January 2017 and effective from 1 January 2018 according to OHADA; the exact framework to apply must be confirmed with the client and, where necessary, a competent professional. The World Bank describes an economy with major mineral resources but also activity in construction and services; the IMF highlights exchange-rate volatility, inflation and dollarisation challenges. In practice, dashboards may therefore distinguish CDF and foreign currencies, state the rates and dates used, separate historical data from assumptions, track price-variation effects and document variances. These are management devices, not promises of risk protection or personalised advice. Security, infrastructure, energy-access and document-movement realities call for a pragmatic, controllable and revisable setup.

01

Structured, usable accounting adapted to the Congolese context

Nova Conseil helps organise supporting documents, journals, charts of accounts, reconciliations, matching, fixed assets and closing procedures within the scope agreed with the client and the applicable framework. The approach can support a business undergoing formalisation, a multi-site organisation or a structure moving from scattered files to stronger controls. Sage can support accounting records and reporting; Odoo can connect sales, purchasing, inventory, projects and accounting where the integration scope is appropriate; Excel remains useful for controls, ad hoc analysis, models and dashboards. Tool, configuration and reporting-frequency choices are validated after a diagnostic, without presenting software as an automatic compliance solution.

02

Management finance: from cash movements to data-informed steering

The service creates practical views for receipts, payments, receivables, payables, cash forecasts, margins, activity costs, budgets and variances. For projects, construction, NGOs or service organisations, monitoring can be organised by site, donor, contract, cost centre or activity. For commercial and industrial businesses, it can include purchasing, inventory, consumption, production and stock turnover. Analyses rely on the data actually available and on explicit assumptions; they support internal decision-making and do not constitute investment, lending or portfolio advice.

03

Sector-aware support, from extractives to non-extractive activities

Mining companies and contractors may need separate monitoring of site or contract costs, purchasing, consumption, inventory, fixed assets, suppliers and foreign-currency flows, subject to project-specific data and obligations. In commerce, industry, services, construction, infrastructure, institutions and NGOs, Nova Conseil can adapt models to purchasing, billing, payroll or disbursement cycles, multi-site projects and agreed justification requirements. The aim is to clarify responsibilities, sources and reporting frequency rather than promise uniform performance across sectors or provinces.

04

Engagement method: diagnose, implement, transfer and improve

An engagement may start with a review of document flows, existing tools, data quality, access rights, closing calendar, reporting needs and connectivity constraints. Nova Conseil then proposes a prioritised scope, timetable, validation templates and straightforward documentation. Implementation may include data cleaning or migration, agreed configuration, user training, consistency checks and a review period. Deliverables, responsibilities, limitations, confidentiality and acceptance criteria are set out in the proposal or contract; regulatory or tax decisions requiring a qualified professional should be validated by the client with the relevant authorities or advisers.

05

Who it serves and what it can deliver

The offer serves leaders who need a clearer view of their activity, finance and administration teams seeking repeatable processes, NGOs and institutions that must document expenditure, and students or researchers needing methodological support or working models. Deliverables are selected to fit the need: procedure files, control workbooks, dashboards, budgets, cash monitoring, data matrices, management reports, training materials or scoping notes. They do not replace a statutory audit, certification, official filing or personalised consultation.
